Biography

Jérôme TISSERAND was born in Nantes, France in 1948. He is both an artist and a professor. He graduated from the Toulouse School of Fine Arts. For 35 years he has been regularly showing his work in France, Europe, and the United States. He has exhibited in Paris Galleries (Henri BENEZIT, Anne LETTREE, Châtelet-Victoria, Espace Pierre Cardin) and in the museums of the cities of Paris, Nantes, Evreux, Meaux, Bernay, Liège and Riyad. His works are in many private collections, and have been featured in numerous publications, including the BENEZIT dictionary.

He has been professor (City of Paris), was in charge of visual arts for the City of Paris, director of the City of Paris School of Graphic Arts, Director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Chalon-sur-Saône, Cultural Advisor for the City of Paris and since 2001 has been director of Cultural Affairs for the City of Evreux.

Ever since 1972, there have been articles reporting on Tisserand’s different activities, e.g. in Vogue, Daily News, Le Monde, Le Figaro, Libération, La Croix, Art Tension, Cimaise, L'Oeil, Connaissance des Arts, La Gazette de L'Hôtel Drouot, Beaux-Arts, and Art Scene California.

Jérôme Tisserand has been honored with official decorations from the French State (Légion d'Honneur, Arts et Lettres and Palmes Académiques.
